Week 41 Analysis

Registrations Rebound 55% but Remain Well Below the Early-September Pace

10,706 new registrations is a 55.3% gain on Week 40 and the first week above 10,000 since Week 36, but it ranks only 21st of the 37 weeks tracked in 2026 – a mid-table reading. Over the five weeks from Week 37 to Week 41, 50,065 agents registered, 55.2% fewer than the 111,766 registered in the five weeks from Week 32 to Week 36. Unique owners rose 50.0% to 7,435, and agents per owner edged up to 1.44 from 1.39, an ordinary reading: it ranks 14th of 37 weeks and is far below the 2.30 of Week 38.

Median Trust Falls to 101, the Lowest Weekly Reading Since Tracking Began

The weekly median fell from 200 to 101, the lowest of the 37 weeks tracked and below the previous low of 105 set in Week 8. Only two weeks, Week 8 and Week 41, have produced a median under 200, so this is the second time a weekly cohort has landed in the Untrusted tier (0-199). The move of 99 points also ends a run of five consecutive weeks in which the median swung by more than 260 points (+345, -345, -373, +265, -265). With agents per owner at a modest 1.44, owner concentration does not obviously explain this week’s weak cohort; the weekly median landed on exactly 200 in nine of the 37 weeks, and this week is the first reading below it in 33 weeks.

Base Drives the Indexed Population to 568,590 Agents

The registry snapshot now covers 568,590 agents across eight chains and 395,166 distinct owners, up 49,705 agents (+9.6%) from the 518,885 in our Week 40 report. Base accounts for most of that growth: it added 37,037 agents (+37.9%) to reach 134,759 (23.7% of the population), or 74.5% of the net increase, while BNB Smart Chain added 10,603 (+2.9%) to reach 374,819 (65.9%). Ethereum holds 54,148 agents (9.5%) and the remaining five chains total 4,864. BNB Smart Chain and Base together hold 89.6% of all agents. The snapshot was taken on October 15, during Week 42, so these population and flag figures include registrations from that still-in-progress week; Week 42 is excluded from the weekly figures in this report.

Population-level trust weakened. The average trust score is 427.7, down from 448.4 in the October 5 snapshot, and 171,532 agents (30.2%) now score below 200, up from 138,470 (26.7%). The Sovereign tier (800-1000) holds 128,504 agents (22.6%), compared with 124,803 (24.1%). Base’s below-200 count rose to 56,968 from 29,023 in the September 3 snapshot, and its average trust score is 352.0, down from 421.4.

Note: Median trust score reflects the median Agent Trust Score of agents registered in that specific week, not the cumulative population median. Weekly registration and owner counts are unchanged from earlier reports; some earlier weekly medians were revised by up to 8 points as agents were rescored (for example, Week 37 is now 573 rather than the 572 shown in our Week 40 report). The population and trust flag figures below are a snapshot as of October 15, 2026, taken during Week 42, and include that week’s registrations so far (36,985, not counted in the weekly figures). Flag comparisons, the average trust score and the share of agents below 200 are compared with the snapshot in our Week 40 report (October 5, 2026), except where a September 3 snapshot is named.

The biggest move is in FEEDER_UNKNOWN: 73,024 agents (12.84%) now carry the flag, against 37,102 (7.15%) in our Week 40 report – a 96.8% increase on a population that grew 9.6%, and well above the 7.15%-8.11% range of our Week 33 to Week 40 reports. The jump coincides with Base’s growth: 47.9% of Base’s unique owners now have an unknown funding source, against 28.8% in the September 3 snapshot. Sybil-farm flagged agents rose by 3,983 to 87,651, but their share fell back to 15.42% from 16.12%, ending the rise first seen in the Week 40 report and matching the 15.41% of our Week 35 report. EIP-7702 delegation was nearly flat at 30,722 agents (+0.3%), slipping to 5.40% of the population from 5.91%.

The most serious flags barely moved. Agents whose owner was funded by a confirmed rug pull operator edged up by one to 919 (0.16%), agents controlled directly by confirmed rug pull creators held at 55, honeypot creators at 9, and the honeypot-funded flag at one agent. Confirmed CEX-funded owners rose by 27 to 2,862 but slipped as a share, from 0.55% to 0.50%, and ERC-6551 token-bound owners rose to 2,629 (0.46%). OWNER_MULTISIG jumped to 2,350 agents (0.41%) from 20; the owner-signal data identifies only 17 Safe multisig owners across all chains, so the flagged agents appear to sit behind a small number of Safe wallets.

About This Tracker

ChainAware.ai’s weekly ERC-8004 agent tracker monitors new agent registrations on the ERC-8004 Identity Registry, the number of unique owner wallets behind those registrations, and the median Agent Trust Score of each week’s registration cohort. Agent Trust Score is a 0-1000 score combining owner wallet fraud probability, feeder address analysis, farm detection, and criminal record checks – see the full Agent Trust Score methodology for how the model scores agents and their controlling wallets. Data is updated weekly alongside ChainAware’s rug pull tracker.
