Token Rank

Token Rank is ChainAware's holder-quality scoring product. Every crypto metric can be faked except one: who actually holds the token. Token Rank reveals whether a project's holders are genuine, experienced Web3 participants or a manufactured crowd - the signal every investor wants to see, and every legitimate project is proud to show.

The Problem: Long Rug Pulls

Not every rug pull happens in 48 hours. A long rug pull is a slow, sustained extraction spread over weeks or months - insiders exit gradually while visible metrics are kept looking healthy the whole way down. That is exactly why it evades the sudden-drain patterns most tools watch for.

To sustain the illusion, projects fake whatever metrics they can: holder counts, trading volume, wash-traded pumps, fake airdrops, bot farms, paid KOL campaigns, inflated web traffic, and manufactured Twitter/Telegram engagement.

The tell is a mismatch: a token with a large market cap, loud social buzz, and heavy trading volume - but a low Token Rank. That gap means the loud metrics are propped up while the underlying holder base is thin, inexperienced, or fraud-prone. Checking Token Rank at launch and periodically afterward - not only after something looks wrong - is how a long rug pull gets caught early instead of after the fact.

Why Nothing Else Catches This

Tool Type What It Shows What It Misses
Holder visualizers (e.g. Bubblemaps) How supply is distributed and clustered Whether those holders are genuine participants or farmed wallets
Social & trading monitors (e.g. CertiK) Twitter activity, trading volume Exactly the metrics a long rug pull is built to fake
Token Rank Wallet-level on-chain history of actual holders Cannot be faked - moving a rank up requires thousands of genuine high-reputation wallets

Social metrics, market cap, and trading activity can be manufactured. Wallet-level on-chain history cannot.

How Token Rank Works

Token Rank is a mechanical median - no discretionary input from ChainAware or the project team.

Step What Happens
1. Every holder gets a Wallet Rank Each token holder wallet is run through the Wallet Auditor and assigned a unique rank
2. Wallet Rank computed The Auditor scores intentions, experience, risk willingness, categories used, wallet age, balance, and fraud probability per wallet
3. Holders sorted by holdings All token holders are sorted by the size of their token holdings, largest to smallest
4. Top 50% isolated The top 50% of holders by holdings are taken and re-sorted by their Wallet Rank
5. Median = Token Rank The median Wallet Rank of that top-50% group becomes the token's published Token Rank

Pricing

Token Rank is free to check for any token already in the index.

Per token, one-time. Scales with holder count.

For tokens not yet in the ranked universe. The team requesting inclusion pays for the initial holder-base audit that brings their token into the live index.

  • Full holder base pulled and scored for the first time
  • Token appears permanently in its category ranking
  • Once added, queries stay free - same as any other ranked token

Per refresh. Priced by holder count, below the inclusion price.

For already-ranked tokens whose holder base has materially shifted - new listing, airdrop, large unlock, exchange inflow - and the team wants an updated score sooner than the next scheduled pass.

  • Full holder base re-pulled and re-scored on request
  • Useful ahead of a raise, listing, or partnership
  • One-time refresh, not a subscription

Payment buys measurement, not a score

Token Rank is a mechanical median - the median Wallet Rank of the top 50% of holders by holdings - and Wallet Rank is derived from genuine on-chain history, not from anything a project can submit or influence. Moving a token's rank up would require acquiring thousands of genuine, high-reputation wallets as top-half holders - far beyond the reach of any inclusion or recalculation fee. Paying only buys the compute needed to calculate and publish a score, never the score itself.

No discretionary scoring input from ChainAware or the paying team. The same integrity logic is validated by CB Insights, BNB Chain Kickstart, and CertiK for the rest of the ChainAware product suite.
